Calvin Merseal

Date of Birth: February 11, 1991
Position: Drums
Bio: Calvin is Amalgam Effect’s devious mastermind. Working from either behind the scenes—or behind his drum kit—he brings a new level of complexity to the band’s music. Calvin explores technical and inventive drum parts that utilize complex and adventurous rhythms. As one of the main lyricists, Calvin explores numerous styles and writing techniques. He is also the band’s primary conceptualist, devising album structures and macro-visions that unify the band’s art. Having gone to college for English, Calvin is a writer at heart, pursuing a parallel career as a novelist beside his work with Amalgam Effect. His first book is a novelization of the Alan Quill story told over the bands first three albums.
